Howard Blackwell is an internationally acclaimed magician and comedy mentalist whose unique performance style has captivated audiences in more than 19 countries. A Tennessee native now based in Charleston, South Carolina, Howard appears in theaters and corporate venues, delivering unforgettable performances that blend sharp wit, mystery, and astonishing magic.
A four-time Piccolo Spoleto performer, Howard has taken his show to London’s West End, toured internationally entertaining troops with a USO-style production, and regularly headlines at the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, California. In 2018, he was nominated for Stage Magician of the Year.

Howard Blackwell has performed around the globe and collected more than a few unbelievable stories along the way. He was the first magician to perform a magic show in the Arctic Circle, won “Guantanamo Bay’s Got Talent” (yes, really), and even avoided a Turkish jail cell by performing magic (also very true).
His television credits include appearances on the History Channel, SYFY, and Penn & Teller: Fool Us. Howard is a past president of the Charleston chapter of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and a member of the Academy of Magical Arts at the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, where he was nominated for Stage Magician of the Year.
A lifelong student of the craft, Howard is inspired by legendary performers such as Rudy Coby, Harry Anderson, Teller, and David Copperfield. Their influence can be seen in a performance style that blends strong magic, personality, and respect for the art form.
